Acoustics

As workplace floor-plans have increasingly become more open, the option for having private conversations or to focus on being productive is crucial.

Unmanaged noise in the workplace has true costs on employee well-being. It can have a real impact on a company’s bottom line relative to healthcare costs, lost productivity and employee satisfaction.

So, what are the best ways to reduce workplace noise levels to create a comfortable, productive environment? Hint: there are now more than a few options.

For instance, integrating materials with absorption properties into décor, such as drapery, panel and screen dividers and ceiling baffles can pay large dividends in reducing noise levels.

Sound masking is another option. Covering noise with pink noise will provide smoother and more soothing sound-masking than white noise, for example.
